Setting Up Your Filmcraft Director Chair

Thank you for your purchase of Filmcraft Director’s Chairs.
Here are some steps to setting up and maintaining your chairs.
Step 1
Position the chair vertically with the feet touching the floor.
Step 2
Partially spread the seat and feet to an open position and ensure the center hinges are in an upright position. ( Figure 1)
Step 3
Position chair arms into an upright position and slip the backrest onto each post. (Figure 2)
Step 4
Reposition the legs to a minimum ¾ open position and then use the sole of your shoe or hand towel to finish pressing down on the center hinge until it is completely parallel. (To prevent injury, do not press down on the center locking hinges with your bare hands.) Do this for both back and front hinges. (Figure 3)
Step 5 (For 24/ 30” Bar Height Directors Chairs only)
Install the footrest using the provided  3/16” allen wrench/hex key by inserting the bolt into the back of the leg and into the footrest. Tighten the bolt using the allen wrench.
For proper long term care, please note the following:
It is common practice to install a screw into the backrest post to secure the backrest canvas. Do not screw directly into the wood, instead drill a pilot hole first. FilmCraft directors chairs are made with Grade A beech wood which has a very tight grain. Failing to install a pilot hole may result in wood splitting that can lead to breakage. We also recommend using Velcro tape as an option.
Here are some steps to replacing your canvas.
Step 1
Position the chair vertically with the feet touching the floor.

Step 2
Remove canvas backrest and fold arms into the down position.
